BOOKS BOOKS AND MORE BOOKS

"The Big Read” reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.
Well let's see.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.

More Maggie....
My happy little puppy...

Now that she knows that she needs to go outside when she has "business" to do, I no longer sleep as she wakes me hourly.

Next lesson for the little one... HOW TO HOLD IT.

Poor traumatized puppy....
Yesterday with Jeff out of town and me having to work, all day, Maggie was stuck at home alone for nearly 10 hours. This was more than twice as long as she has ever been by herself and she was not pleased about it. (I figure she has a 5 hour alone limit.)

When we are at work Maggie temporarily dwells in our shower. (It’s about 3.5 feet square and helps keep her out of trouble – for now.) When I got home I found that she built a pyramid in the middle the shower with all of her stuff. The toys on top of the empty food dish which was on top of the water dish that was on top of her dog bed which was on top of the towel. When I went to take her out of the "cage" Maggie just looked at me like how "could you"… Then she looked at me all shameful, turned to where she had her first accident and looked back at me with big eyes that said, I just couldn’t hold it for 10 hours. Poor thing! She is very prideful about learning quickly and having been nearly potty trained from the get go, this was a bad day for her.

This morning when I had to leave she cried and cried… I’m sure she’s afraid to be alone for that long again… Man do I feel guilty. I wanted to bring her with me or stay home. :-(

I need to come up with a better plan on the days that we are gone for extended periods.....

New Puppy is welcomed to family.
Last night I fell in love, again - this time with a puppy.
So guess who took the puppy home.... That’s right, the girl who didn’t want the responsibility of a dog…I must be out of my mind.

Oh, and the part that I didn’t mention is that I returned a pair of shoes that I really “had to have” to afford the little one. (See I must be ill or something. I, the shoe queen, took back shoes to have a dog…)

I’ve wanted a pit-bull forever and that was the plan however the home owner’s insurance companies will not cover us if we have a pit or a number of other breeds…Since I have to have insurance to stay within the terms of our mortgage I was stuck. Jeff wanted a Bull Dog, which was next on the list... They are a small fortune and it’s hard to find a good one. With our number one and two choices out of reach for the time being we were fine waiting or not having a K-9. That is until yesterday after we drove groundstruck0 and her man to the airport… That is when I saw her….

A little German pup… (sokkmonkey would be proud.)
She is a 4 lb, solid black, miniature schnauzer with an adorable personality and fabulous demeanor…

Currently she is nameless since we already have a Lucy, what Max wanted to name her, amongst the extended family.

The names in the running now are: Raven, Mesha, Maggie, Token, Lady, and Diamond… We are still not set on any and are looking for a good one that fits. Suggestions are welcome. I will post photos soon….

Moving on...
It is so simple to love someone from the past, when they are not in your present.
Easier to demonized someone from your history book, when you no longer see their eyes.
Either way you slice it, you don’t let go.

Without the daily dose of pain, glorifying it is effortlessness.
Letting the injury fester creates new dominating wounds to focus on and you can forget what was good.
Both allow you to hold on.

The complexity exists in loving who is in your present.
Forgiving the ache they inflicted; while they infest your daily routine.
Walking away seems so easy till you do.

To err may be human; to criticize – it’s accompanying factor.
Love binds, holds your feet in place.
Yet, leaving seems so trouble-free until you do.
